Example commands using the zono program. This programs will make a zonohedron or add zones to a convex seed polyhdron, which is known as zonohedrification. The zones are created from a star of vectors (a set of vectors), which can be based on the vertices or edges of a polyhdron. The program will also generate polar zonohedra.

Image List

Polar 7  Med    Lrg
Description : Make a polar zonohedron from a star of 7 vectors.

View this model with the command

zono -P 7 | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Polar 7/2  Med    Lrg
Description : Make a non-convex polar zonohedron from an ordered star of 7 vectors.

View this model with the command

zono -P 7/2 | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Polar tet  Med    Lrg
Description : Make a polar zonohedron from an ordered star of vectors taken from a model.

View this model with the command

zono -P s tet | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Zono ico v  Med    Lrg
Description : Make a zonohedron from a star of a model's vertex vectors. The vertices of an icosahedron produce a rhombic triacontahedron

View this model with the command

zono ico | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Zono ico i  Med    Lrg
Description : Make a zonohedron from a star of a model's edge vectors. The edges of an icosahedron produce an Archimedean truncated icosidodecahedron

View this model with the command

zono ico -m i | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Zono icosid ico  Med    Lrg
Description : Zonohedrify a seed with the vertex vectors from another model. The vertex vectors of an icosahedron are used to add zones to an icosidodecahedron, and the zones are coloured white. The two base models have unit edges, so the vertices of the icoshedron are not unit, but can be set to unit with option -u

View this model with the command

zono -S icosid -u -C white ico | antiview
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image

Zono edge color  Med    Lrg
Description : Give the different edge directions a different colour

View this model with the command

zono dod | off_color -e D | antiview -v 0.3
Click on one of the size names above to enlarge this image
