Early versions written in Python
These Python programs are early versions, in varying stages of
completeness. They are currently being rewritten in C++ and so not likely
to be developed further in Python.
Each program is described on a separate page, with instructions and sample
images.
Point distribution and ball packing
- pg_circle
- distributes points in rings on a sphere
- pg_spiral
- distributes points on a spherical spiral
- pg_saff
- distributes points on a sphere using a method by Saff and Kuijlaars
- packer
- packs balls in a sphere one at a time and in contact with others
Display
- polyform
- converts point sets to viewable formats (POV, VRML and OFF).
Other
- pocket
- example program which places two balls in contact with three others.
